UPDATE: Tompkins County activates Code Blue protocols for Thursday

UPDATE 10/16: With freezing temperatures expected overnight, Tompkins County has activated Code Blue protocols again.

 

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing tonight.

As a result, Tompkins County is activating Code Blue protocols for anyone who may need shelter.

Call or visit the Department of Social Services in Ithaca until 4:30 p.m. to get set up. After 4:30 p.m., you can call non-emergency dispatch at (607) 272-2444 to be connected to DSS on-call service.

It’s the second time this season that Code Blue protocols have been activated. Tompkins County’s Code Blue shelter on Cherry Street has a target opening date of November 15.
