WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – Amid rising SNAP funding delays, a nonprofit group continues to fight food insecurity in Tioga County.

The Happy Compromise Farm + Sanctuary grows food and gives it away free in the community.

Over the last two years, they’ve donated over 3,000 pounds of produce to residents in Waverly, which has been without a grocery store since Ted Clark’s Busy Market closed in February 2024. The farm also has seed libraries, offers gardening classes, provides no-cost vet care and has a free pet pantry. The farm also features more than 100 animals rescued from abuse and neglect.

Visit the Happy Compromise Farm + Sanctuary website to learn more, support operations, or sign up to volunteer.

Correction: The Happy Compromise Farm + Sanctuary has distributed over 6,000 pounds of produce to residents for free over the last two years.
