OVID, NY (607NewsNow) – Two Tompkins County men face charges in Seneca County.

On December 20, State Police responded to a report of a suspicious person circling a building around 9 a.m. on County Road 132 in Ovid.

When authorities arrived, there were allegedly signs of forced entry, including broken windows and a damaged door. After a search, 58-year-old Allen Little, of Freeville, and 39-year-old Billyray Ward, of Groton, were found hiding in the basement.

Troopers say copper wiring and other building components had been damaged and removed, and numerous tools and stolen property were recovered. A small amount of drugs was also allegedly found during the arrest.

Both Little and Ward are charged with felony burglary and misdemeanors of criminal mischief, petit larceny, and possession of burglar’s tools. Little was additionally charged with two counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to NYSP, the investigation is ongoing.
