Two charged with burglary, grand larceny in Cortlandville

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Two 21-year-olds face multiple charges after allegedly stealing from a business in Cortlandville.

On January 2, Richard Briere, of Cortlandville, and Miranda Simmons, of Lafayette, allegedly took items from Walmart without paying.

Briere and Simmons fled the scene but were located nearby a short time later by deputies and arrested. Both had previously received no-trespass orders from Walmart.

Briere and Simmons are charged with burglary, grand larceny, and misdemeanors of conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. They were issued appearance tickets and released on their own recognizance.

Briere is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on January 12 at 11 a.m. Simmons is due in Cortlandville Town Court on January 14 at 11:30 a.m.
