Tompkins County wins state award for COG project

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — New York is awarding Tompkins County construction money. 

State officials say the county will receive $2 million for the Center of Government project in downtown Ithaca. The grant money comes from the Regional Economic Development Council awards. Lawmakers say the project, which will create new office space for county employees, has a total estimated price tag of $50 million. 

It’s estimated the project will be completed in a few years.
