AUBURN, NY (607NewsNow) – We’re learning more about a threat of violence at Cayuga Community College (CCC).

According to the Auburn Police Department, the perceived threat came from an alleged third party during a phone call between a resident of Auburn and a resident of Rochester on the morning of March 4.

Authorities say the Auburn resident was experiencing a personal crisis at the time of the call, and investigators determined the third party does not exist, and the threat was unfounded.

All classes were cancelled yesterday at Cayuga Community College’s Auburn and Fulton campuses, and all schools within the Auburn Enlarged City School District (AECSD) also closed. Both CCC and AECSD are operating as normal today.
