ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — TCAT is looking for a funding boost.

The transit agency has asked their three underwriters—the city of Ithaca, Tompkins County, and Cornell—for more money. General Manager Matthew Rosenbloom-Jones tells 607 News Now about the added dollar amounts they’re looking for.

Rosenbloom-Jones adds the $500,000 contribution boost from the 3 underwriters is a small ask considering their other funding sources.

Without the increased contributions, Rosenbloom-Jones says TCAT is at risk of service cuts next year. Tompkins County and the city of Ithaca have indicated an agreement, but Cornell has not yet expressed agreement with TCAT’s request.
