STORRS, Conn. (607NewsNow) — A Syracuse women’s basketball player is looking back on what went wrong Monday night.

Syracuse lost to UConn 98-45 in the NCAA tournament. In the first half, the Orange scored just 12 points.

“We came out, we were on the back foot, and against a team like UConn you can’t come out like that,” Syracuse junior Sophie Burrows told reporters. “We learned our lesson.”

The 53-point defeat ended Syracuse’s season. UConn, meanwhile, is advancing to the Sweet 16 round of the tournament.
