Staff, volunteers help deliver puppies in Ithaca

/SPCA of Tompkins County

ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – A dog and her puppies are recovering with family thanks to the SPCA of Tompkins County.

The shelter received a call on Monday about a pregnant dog named Mila, who was struggling in labor. There were no other care options available, and she needed emergency surgery. With the help of about a dozen SPCA staff and volunteers, Mila gave birth to eight healthy pups.

A boxer named Zoey was also saved this week in Cortland after firefighters sprang into action during a power outage.
