ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – You have one final opportunity to weigh in on Tompkins County’s 2025 spending plan.
A public hearing on the proposed county budget is scheduled for Wednesday of next week in Ithaca. Legislator Lee Shurtleff says an amendment passed on October 15 to bring the tax levy down to 3% is not enough in his district, which has unique challenges. Shurtleff represents the town of Groton and part of the towns of Lansing and Dryden.
Shurtleff says while a 3% tax levy is a compromise based on early projections, work still needs to be done.
The public hearing for Tompkins County’s proposed 2025 budget is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers. Lawmakers are expected to vote on the 2025 budget at the November 7, 2024, meeting of the Legislature.
