Several Southern Tier schools begin basketball season

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Basketball fans across the region will flock to gymnasiums this weekend.

At SUNY Cortland, the women’s basketball team hosts Rochester tonight at 7 p.m. The Red Dragons enter the season as the reigning SUNYAC champions.

At Ithaca College, the men’s hoops team entertains Brockport at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Bombers enter the season with Mike McSloy as their new head coach.

The Cornell men’s and women’s basketball teams have road games tonight. The women’s team plays Bryant at 6 p.m. and the men’s squad faces Kent State at 7 p.m.
