Seneca Falls makes USA Today’s 10 Best Historic Small Towns list

SENECA FALLS, NY (607NewsNow) – Seneca Falls is enjoying a moment in the national spotlight.

On April 8, the home of the women’s suffrage movement was named to USA Today’s 2026 10 Best Historic Small Towns list.

The town along the Erie Canal received enough votes to place 7th out of 10. coming in at number 7. Best known for hosting the 1848 Women’s Rights Convention, organized by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Seneca Falls is home to the Women’s Rights National Historical Park Museum.

Settled in 1796 and officially organized in 1829, Seneca Falls 19th-century architecture was also noted by USA Today. Seneca Falls is also the home of the It’s a Wonderful Life Museum, as it’s thought to be the inspiration for the fictional Bedford Falls in the classic Christmas film.
