ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A recall of a product sold at Trader Joe’s is expanding.

The recall now includes chicken shumai dumplings in addition to chicken fried rice.

Over 3.3 million pounds of chicken fried rice were recalled in February for potential foreign material contamination. The recalled amount of food is now nearly 37 million pounds, though much of it is attributed to manufacturer products sold at other retailers. According to an investigation by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, the likely source of the contamination was determined to be carrots, which affected the expanded recall.

The Trader Joe’s products have best buy dates between March 5, 2026, and October 23, 2026.
