OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) — A Tioga County school is holding a career day.
Students will be connected with different agricultural businesses and groups during the 2nd annual Agricultural Career Day at the Owego Free Academy.
According to a news release, Wednesday’s event “will feature exhibits and hands-on experiences that connect students with real-world agricultural careers. From modern technology like soil and water analysis to traditional practices such as crop production and livestock care, Agricultural Career Day demonstrates the wide range of opportunities within the modern agriculture industry.”
It’s being organized by Owego’s chapter of Future Farmers of America, which is encouraging the public to support students looking to contribute to the future of agriculture.
“We are very excited to offer this amazing opportunity to our students for the second
year in a row,” Owego advisor Derek Hill said. We have more businesses involved this year, which will offer more networking to our students.”
The ag career expo will be held tomorrow, Apr. 22, from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Owego Free Academy’s OFA Collaboration space and areas outside.
