Over a million Oster French Door Countertop Ovens recalled for burn hazard

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A popular kitchen item has been recalled.

Sunbeam is warning customers that several models of its Oster French Door Countertop Ovens may experience a malfunction that can cause the oven’s doors to close unexpectedly, posing a burn hazard.

The company has received 95 reports of doors closing, including two reports of second-degree burns. More information from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is available here.

Nearly 1.3 million were sold from August 2015 through July 2025 at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Costco, Walmart, and other stores, as well as online at Amazon.com and Overstock.com.

Consumers can contact Sunbeam Products Inc. at (800) 334-0759 for a free repair kit. It does not require any tools to install.
