HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A 34-year-old Broome County man is recovering after a crash in Homer.

On August 24, State Police responded to a commercial vehicle accident on Interstate 81 around 6:30 a.m.

Troopers say a water truck was traveling northbound when it experienced a “tire failure,” causing it to exit the roadway and roll over. The driver, 34-year-old Nikoli Mott, of Conklin, was transported to Upstate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The right lane of I-81 was closed for cleanup for nearly six hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
