SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) — Everyone is OK at Syracuse City Hall after the building was evacuated.

On Sept. 29, authorities investigated a suspicious package that was taped to a nearby tree. The item turned out to be a noise monitor owned by the New York State Department of Transportation.

According to WSYR-TV, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh was not expecting the device to be taped to a tree. He called it a “surprise.”
