NEW YORK, NY (607NewsNow) — Two baseball players in the Big Apple are hoping to bring home some hardware.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Mets slugger Juan Soto are finalists for American League MVP and National League MVP, respectively. Judge hammered 53 home runs this past season, while Soto blasted 43 homers.

In the American League, Judge is up against Guardians infielder Jose Ramirez and Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh. Ramirez and Raleigh have never won the MVP award before, while Judge has received the honor two times.

Soto has stiff competition in the National League: Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is a finalist, as is power hitter Kyle Schwarber. Schwarber crushed 56 homers with the Phillies this past season.

The MVP award winners will be announced on Nov. 13.
