Nasal spray recalled for potential contamination

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An over-the-counter medical product is being recalled.

According to the FDA, some ReBoost Nasal Spray may contain yeast, mold, or microorganisms, including one species identified as Achromobacter, at levels above specifications.

All consumers are advised to discontinue use of the spray immediately. There have been no reports of illnesses associated with product use to date, however federal officials say there’s a “reasonable probability” it could cause adverse health reactions in people with immune disorders, including life-threatening infections.

The affected product was distributed nationwide in stores and online. Customers who purchased the product directly from the manufacturer should contact MediNatura New Mexico to arrange for a refund. Customers who bought the product at a retailer should return it to the place of purchase.
