Living Essence Massage Institute to provide continuing education classes

TRUMANSBURG, NY (607NewsNow) — On Sunday, March 22nd, New York State licensed massage therapists will teach two Continuing Education (CE) classes at the Living Essence Massage Institute (LEMI).

The two classes offered are as follows:

  • Abdominal Massage: Practical & Practicable with Leslie Vincent, LMT: From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants will receive 3 NYS & NCBTMB CE credits for taking this class focusing on skillfully incorporating abdominal massage. Topics include cautions, contraindications, boundaries, draping techniques, assessment-based treatment planning, and strategies for introducing this vulnerable area with clients. Tuition is $90
  • Massage Techniques for the Calf & Shin with Brian Alexander, LMT: From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., participants will receive 3 NYS & NCBTMB CE credits in this class that focuses on lower-leg massage techniques targeting the calf and shin. Students will learn manual techniques, injury and pathology considerations, indications and contraindications, and populations that benefit most from lower-leg massages through practicing Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Sports Massage techniques under guided supervision. Tuition is $90.
