ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A voting registration deadline looms.

The Board of Elections in Ithaca will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, which is the last day for voters to change their political party ahead of the June 23 primaries.

New York is a closed primary state, meaning voters must be enrolled in the party holding the primary to be eligible to vote. It’s unknown at this time if any party will hold primary elections.

You can also make the change using the New York State Online Voter Registration tool. If you use the DMV online enrollment change tool, however, you should complete the form by the end of the day on February 12 to ensure it is processed in time.

All NYS DMV offices and online services will be shut down from 2 p.m. on February 13 to February 18 for a large-scale system upgrade.
