Lansing Town Board agrees to extend public comment period on moratorium proposal

LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — More public comments are being accepted in Lansing.

During an emergency town board meeting Thursday, the group agreed to extend a deadline on accepting public comments in writing about a proposed 1-year moratorium on land use development.

Town Supervisor Ruth Groff said they’ve received “nearly 1,000” written comments since Sept. 18 and acknowledged the deadline to submit them was unclear.

The new deadline is about 3 weeks away.
