ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Gas prices continue to fall.

AAA says Ithaca’s price is down seven cents since last week, averaging at $4.31 a gallon. The long holiday weekend saw over 72 million people travel 50 miles or more, and demand for gas was high.

“According to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased with holiday travel along with gasoline production while total domestic gasoline supply decreased. Crude oil prices are still down in the $68 to $71 per barrel range this morning,” AAA noted.

Despite the drop, prices remain at a four-year high.
