ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca non-profit is struggling.

Family Reading Partnership Executive Director Amber Smith tells 607 News Now that after 30 years, times have become very tough.

They’re trying to raise $100,000 by the end of May to stay open at the Shops at Ithaca Mall. Smith says their 1990s-era HVAC system has to be replaced at their own cost.

Since launching the fundraiser earlier this month, Smith tells us the Family Reading Partnership has raised about $6,000.
