WATKINS GLEN, NY (607NewsNow) – An Ithaca teen awaits sentencing in Schuyler County.

On June 4, 18-year-old Michael Blake pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter, a felony, and misdemeanor driving while impaired by drugs.

According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, Blake admitted to drinking alcohol and doing drugs before a crash in Hector last September that killed his passenger, 17-year-old Markus Wright of Trumansburg. Blake lost control of the vehicle on County Road 1, left the roadway, and struck a tree.
