ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca is moving a bus stop.

Following last month’s permanent closure of the Seneca St. parking garage, city officials will move the TCAT Route 10 stop to the 200 block of Tioga St. starting today.

“Route 10’s move to Tioga Street will significantly ease but not entirely eliminate bus congestion at the temporary stop farther west on Seneca Street toward the Cayuga Street intersection,” TCAT General Manager Matthew Rosenbloom-Jones said.

“The City will designate the 200 block of Tioga Street, in front of Ithaca Town Hall, for bus use only. Parking will be prohibited for other vehicles,” officials stated.

Currently, the Route 10 bus leaves Seneca St. 65 times a time, though that will be reduced to 45 trips when TCAT’s summer service schedule begins Sunday, May 24.

Other routes displaced by the garage closure will continue to use the temporary stop on Seneca St.
