Ithaca Rotary Club seeks volunteers for Route 13 trash pickup

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A local civic group is seeking volunteers.

On October 18, the Ithaca Rotary Club, along with Zero Waste Ithaca, will continue its 15-year tradition of cleaning a busy stretch of Route 13.

Interested parties will help pick up the stretch of highway between the Triphammer Road and Stewart Park exits. The cleanup is expected to take two hours.

Volunteers will gather first at 8:50 a.m. Saturday in the Tops Friendly Markets parking lot at 2300 N. Triphammer Road before heading out to clean from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

All required gear, including hard hats and trash grabbers, will be provided. Refreshments will also be given out after the cleanup.
