ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca is continuing efforts to address homelessness.

Mayor Robert Cantelmo tells 607 News Now the city wants to re-focus on a sanctioned encampment area.

Cantelmo adds a ‘shelter of last resort’ can be helpful.

In addition, Mayor Cantelmo plans to re-appoint a commission on homelessness.

Cantelmo has called homelessness and housing key issues to address by the city.
