ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH) is hosting a community art gala.

On April 11, the event, “Where Culture Takes Flight,” will feature local artwork, live music, vendors, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

The evening is presented in partnership with MIX Art Gallery and the Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD) Group.

Attendees will see artwork on display from Josh Parrott, Tia Eytina, Yen Ospina, Amy Hauer, Leslie Ihde, Shawn Bridget Hull, and Shane Eversfield. Live music will be performed by the Jessie Collins Trio and Cornell a capella vocalists.

“This event is a wonderful example of how the airport can serve as more than just a transportation hub,” said Airport Director Roxan Noble. “We are proud to partner with local artists, educators, and organizations to create an experience that celebrates creativity, community, and connection right here at ITH.”

Guests will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle for $125 flight vouchers. Food and drinks will be available from the 2nd Landing Cafe.

Free and open to the public, the gala runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in the airport terminal. Additionally, on-site parking will be available free of charge, and the terminal can be accessed via the #32 TCAT bus route.
