IPD investigating ‘suspicious’ campsite fire

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Injuries were avoided after a fire at an Ithaca campsite.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at a sanctioned camping area near Southwest Park Rd. Police say the campsite was empty at the time, and the fire is being looked at as suspicious.

“The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the incident remains under investigation,” police said.
