LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – A fatal crash in the Town of Lansing is under investigation.

On August 25, authorities were called to the intersection of Auburn and Locke Road around 6:05 p.m. for a crash involving a motorcycle and compact SUV.

Investigators say 45-year-old Curtis Lonsky, of King Ferry, was traveling north on Auburn Road when the compact SUV, which was traveling south, failed to yield the right of way while making a turn onto Locke Road. Lonsky was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Daniel Felipe of Brooklyn, was uninjured and issued a traffic ticket. A portion of Auburn Road was shut down for nearly four hours.

According to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, the NYSP Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.
