HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County farmer is okay after an accident.

On October 17, deputies were called to East River Road in Homer just after 5 p.m. for a reported crash with an injury.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, a combine harvester had a mechanical issue that resulted in a loss of control. The driver tried to turn from Shippey Road onto E. River and left the roadway, striking a telephone pole before rolling over.

The roadway was forced to close for a short time.

The combine operator was evaluated at the scene by medical professionals, who determined he was not injured.
