DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) — Dryden has a new bookstore.
Protagonist Books & Coffee opened in September on West Main Street. Co-owner Sam Gellar-Smith said business has been steady.
“We’ve been really busy and we’re really happy about it,” she said.

Gellar-Smith said returning customers appreciate the book selection and atmosphere. The store has cushy chairs and colorful plants.
Along with being a place to read and study, Protagonist offers baked goods and drinks. Gellar-Smith said the store sells locally roasted java from Copper Horse Coffee.
“We serve a great cup of coffee,” she said.

The store is open Wednesday through Sunday.
