BARKER, NY (607NewsNow) – Several people are recovering after a crash in Broome County.

On August 19, State Police were called to a crash on Interstate 81 near Exit 21 in the Town of Barker.

Troopers say a tractor-trailer struck a vehicle behind, causing two more collisions. One person from each vehicle was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No workers were injured. The DEC Spill Response Team was called to the scene to tend to a fuel spill.

Following the crash, two dogs that were in one of the vehicles ran from the scene. Described as a German Shepherd and a poodle-type dog, the two were last seen in the area near I-81 and Route 11.
