CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cortland Common Council is considering awarding a grant to a game store.

Area 51 sells trading cards, action figures, and other collectibles. The business might receive $13,262 from the city’s Microenterprise Assistance Program.

The money would help buy fixtures, furniture, and inventory for Area 51’s new store at the Riverside Plaza. The business plans to open the store at the beginning of September.

The Common Council will vote on the funding tonight at 6 p.m. at Cortland City Hall.
