Cortland fire chief to receive Career Fire Chief of the Year award

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland’s fire chief is getting an award. 

Chief Wayne Friedman will be presented with the Career Fire Chief of the Year award by the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs.

“This distinguished recognition reflects Chief Friedman’s exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to public safety, and dedicated service to the fire service profession,” Mayor Scott Steve said. “Throughout his tenure, Chief Friedman has demonstrated outstanding professionalism, operational excellence, and a steadfast commitment to the residents and visitors of the City of Cortland.”

The award presentation is June 11 at The Oncenter in Syracuse.
