ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The men’s lightweight rowing team at Cornell has found a new head coach.

Reid Johnson will lead the program. Cornell Athletics Director Dr. Nicki Moore said Johnson has a “genuine passion for developing young people, both on and off the water.”

Johnson, whose coaching experience includes two seasons at Princeton, said he’s “honored” to accept the role. He replaces previous head coach Tyler Nase, who was recently hired to lead the women’s rowing program at Penn.

Earlier this year, the Cornell men’s lightweight rowing team was put on probation through spring 2029. The penalty stems from alleged hazing violations; details on the violations can be found here.
