ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cornell men’s basketball team is welcoming back an old friend.

Clay Wilson is returning to campus as associate head coach. Wilson was an assistant at Cornell from 2019-2021.

“My wife and I are incredibly grateful and humbled for the opportunity to return to Cornell,” Wilson said. “This university has meant so much to me, and it’s an honor to come back and help build on the tradition and culture that make Cornell so special.”

Cornell Head Coach Jon Jaques said he’s “thrilled” to welcome Wilson and his wife back. Jaques called Wilson one of the “bright young coaches” in the sport.

Wilson spent the 2025-2026 season coaching at Hawai’i. As an assistant on staff, he helped lead the Rainbow Warriors to the NCAA tournament.
