ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A former Cornell women’s basketball player is heading across the pond.
Recent graduate Emily Pape has committed to Newcastle University in England. She’ll play there while pursuing her master’s degree.
Pape said her time at Cornell has “fully prepared” her for the opportunity. She ranks sixth in program history in career rebounds.
Cornell Women’s Basketball Head Coach Emily Garner said the program is “incredibly excited” for Pape to play overseas.
“She has earned this opportunity with her relentless work ethic, leadership, and commitment to improving every day,” Garner said.
Pape’s younger sister, Ally, is entering her second season on the Big Red women’s basketball team.
