CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County’s new mental health building is still a work in progress.

“When you’re doing a full renovation, there’s always some little hiccups we have here and there,” Legislative Chair Kevin Fitch told 607 News Now. “We had projected that it was going to be open for business in October, but with construction going we’re now looking at the end of December [to open],” Fitch also said.

Once the facility on Port Watson St. in Cortland is open, Fitch says it’ll provide more space to accommodate more people and programs — and service won’t be interrupted.

“From their current location we have to move them in, so we’re going to be kind of in between both places so that we can continue the services they provide,” Fitch added.
