CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Centro is trying to improve service in Cortland County.

Centro is increasing the frequency of stops on four of its most popular routes: Route 1 (Riverside Plaza), Route 2 (West Road), Route 3 (Homer), and Route 4 (Walmart/Cortlandville).

There are no changes to Routes 5, 6, and 11. Additionally, buses will no longer travel through the SUNY Cortland campus, but they will provide access to entry points along the main roads. The service updates will enable routes to run on a 40-minute cycle instead of 45 and will increase the daily total trip count from 16 to 18.

Officials say the schedule and frequency changes, which took effect March 2, will be evaluated for effectiveness before becoming permanent.

More information is available from Centro here.
