BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — Plenty of people want to study at Binghamton University.

The school received 74,725 applications this year. That marks the most applications the university has ever received.

The majority of applications came from prospective first-year students, though 4,575 transfer applications were received.

“Binghamton University has so much to offer to today’s college students, and it’s no surprise to see continuous growth in the number of students who choose to apply,” Provost Donald Hall said.

Classes for the fall semester begin on Aug. 19.
