Akumfi appointed Interim Tompkins County Finance Director

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A busy budget season is getting busier for a key Tompkins County employee.

At the August 18 meeting of the Tompkins County Legislature, Legislator Deborah Dawson introduced a resolution to appoint County Administrator Korsah Akumfi as the Interim Director of Finance.

 

Akumfi was appointed unanimously. He takes over for the departing Darrel Tuttle, who has been Finance Director since July 2025, after serving as Deputy Director. Tuttle announced his resignation late last month. He is leaving the state with his family.

Today is Akumfi’s first official day in the role.
