Unofficial results are in for Ithaca Common Council primaries

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The primaries are over, and the results are in.

For Ithaca Common Council, Kayla Matos leads in Ward One. She’s seeking a four-year term. In Ward Two, which is a two-year term, Kris Haines-Sharp scored the most votes in a three-way race. David Shapiro edged out a win in Ward Three for a four-year term. Over in the Fifth Ward, Margaret Fabrizio is the victor in the primary for a
four-year term while Clyde Lederman won for a two-year term. There were no Republican primaries for Ithaca Common Council on Tuesday.

In the town of Caroline, Supervisor Mark Witmer won the Democratic primary with 492 votes.

These results still need to be certified by the Tompkins County Board of Elections. You can view the current tallies here.
