CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Two men from Los Angeles have been sentenced for their roles in a federal conspiracy to distribute meth in Cortland.

31-year-old Edgar Arredondo and 35-year-old Jose Pimentel provided more than nine pounds of meth to co-defendant Kyle Leeper, of Palymra, PA in 2019. Prosecutors say Leeper brought it back to Cortland to sell, killing a man in the process. Leeper was sentenced to 40 years in prison in November for murder and trafficking.

Arredondo has received a 20-year-sentence. Pimentel has been sentenced to 12 years, seven months.
