A year-long Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program is now in effect until September 25, 2024. It allows the county to hire certain positions without requiring a civil service exam or being appointed from an eligible list.

The positions include a caseworker, community services worker, a public safety dispatcher trainee, and a social welfare examiner.

When the program ends next year, the employees will have attained competitive status.
