OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) — Volunteer EMS providers in Owego could see financial incentives.

The village is considering creating a service award program. It would operate like a pension plan, where volunteers would accumulate money over time.

The program would use a point system, which rewards attending meetings and responding to calls.

Village residents will vote on the proposal on March 19.
