Longtime Cortland educator passes, calling hours Thursday

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Cortland community is mourning the sudden death of a teacher who impacted students for 53 years.

Jim Forshee, lecturer in SUNY Cortland’s Sports Management Department for the last 15 years and teacher at Cortland High School for 38 years, passed away last Thursday after a brief illness.

Calling hours will be held from 2-6 p.m. this Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Forshee’s family has said that donations in his honor can be made to the Cortland County SPCAForshee was 76.
