ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Ithaca Police Benevolent Association is raising money for an injured officer.

IPD’s police union will team up with the Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Company for a breakfast benefit. Over the weekend, Chemung County Sheriff’s investigator Mike Theetge suffered a severe head injury when he was thrown from the hood of a car during a pursuit of two Ithaca suspects. Theetge remains in critical condition.

The breakfast benefit at the Brooktondale fire company is being held April 28 from eight to 11 o’clock.

Meanwhile, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office is also raising money for Theetge’s recovery.
