ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Changes could be coming within Ithaca’s Department of Public Works.

The city is considering adding an assistant director of engineering services. Officials say the position would help with succession planning and large projects.

The DPW is also looking to add an assistant civil engineer to focus on sidewalks.

Ithaca’s Common Council meets tonight at 6 PM to discuss the potential positions. The group will also review a request from the Ithaca Fire Department.
